Coincidentally Meeting Him

‘We never meet someone coincidentally, there might be a reason,’ begitu katanya, dan saya percaya. But I never thought this would happen to me, this way.

So here I meet this guy.. he’s literally physically or personally not my type. Dia enggak tinggi, enggak bidang, enggak berkacamata, enggak punya jaw line, engga harum, enggak berpakaian rapi. Dia medhok, dia punya brewok, dia anak teknik, dia berpakaian satu warna from top to toe. You know, everyone has preferences, and that’s okay. He’s just not my type.

Then it comes to time he speaks, as I said, medhok, and that’s okay too, saya orang jawa juga. But more than that... dia berbicara, sambil lihat ke mata. You know, I feel appreciated.

Then it comes to time we decide which meals we gonna eat for dinner, I crave for noodles, while he wants something with rice. He lets us eat at noodles resto, hesays that’s okay he can choose rice box. That feels great when someone tells what he wants, but still manages to let us have what we want. Nobody wins, both are happy.

Then it comes to time when we two walk in a crowd, and he put his arms around my waist, just to make sure I feel safe. You know, that feels so good for feeling safe.

Then it comes to time when we sit in a boring concertso that I feel sleepy and tired after office, and he wraps his arms around my shoulder, to make sure I am comfortable enough to spend the rest of the concert.

Then it comes to time when he makes sure whether itis okay for me to come home late or whether mom is awaiting. It feels good when someone asks that way.

Then it comes to time when he talks about his works, so passionately. It looks great seeing someone so passionate about what he is doing. I still can remember how he talks, explains, and tells me things I don’t even understand.

Then it comes to time when he talks about his family, I never find someone that loves his family this much. He takes hours of train almost every holiday, to see his moms and dads. He cares about his nephew. He loves to take out his sister out. He just admires his family that much. Things I’ve been missing in life, things I’ve been wishing to have in future.

You know, this is not love, and I don’t wanna be in love. It is just me, being so blessed ‘coincidentally’ meeting this one. In a middle of nowhere, I met him.

Thanks God, for showing me a human like him still exist.
...but am I that selfish if I wish we two meet in a different way and time?
